Rubber Duckie You're The One......

This afternoon I have been excited to get a chance to trial something for a very special, little rubber duckie loving girl!

It’s a very rough attempt- trying to figure out what to do so it looks as rubber duckie like as possible.

I’m pretty happy with it considering it’s a first attempt and even though it’s far from perfect I thought I’d post it anyway.

I may try making him out of modelling chocolate to see that result as well.

Either way my final rubber duckie will have pizazz haha!

Orange & Almond treat...

Inspired by a luscious gluten free cake (no I am not gluten intolerant – but you don’t have to be to enjoy the yummy cakes!) I ate at a local patisserie I was determined to replicate it at home.

After some serious tweaking and trial and error I came up with this ever so moist Orange and Almond Cake.

It’s to die for- although my husband tells me it tastes “too healthy because there’s no chocolate”.

I think it’s great to have options that don’t jeopardise flavour especially if you do have an intolerance.

This little morsel is just what anyone needs as a morning tea pick-me-up with a nice cup of tea!

Somewhere Over the Rainbow......

I'm sooo excited to have something to blog as I haven't blog in quite sometime.

A special little person has a birthday not too far away- well ok it's still a few months- however the rest of the year has flown by so fast I am expecting the upcoming months to do the same.

I have been brainstorming what this year's birthday theme shall be and it hit me! RAINBOW!!!!!!! Every little girl loves a rainbow. Of course my cake will be decorated with some form of rainbow (you will have to wait to see the completed project when the time comes), but I wanted to take it one step further... wait for it..... rainbow cake on the inside to! Something a little fun :).
THE MOMENT OF TRUTH

After a bit of research,  I have used the excuse that practice makes perfect and have made a batch of rainbow cupcakes (still vanilla flavor- I may look at flavoring the mixture with something exciting- bubblegum perhaps) and I am over the moon- no wait- make that rainbow, with the results.

For those of you who are interested I used the Americolour gel in Violet, Electric Blue, Leaf green, Lemon Yellow, Electric Orange and Super Red (My lovely mother thinks it's a little too psychedelic - I beg to differ- sorry mum!)

I keep telling everyone that rainbow tastes so much better- even though it has no taste (the saying we eat with our eyes is so true). My little princess will only nibble at my vanilla cake however because it was rainbow she ate a whole cupcake- can someone tell me how to make steak and greens rainbow please!

The only thing I feel is missing from this picture is sparkle - but there will be PLENTY of that on my final masterpiece :).

Happy decorating everyone!
